Responsibilities

Is familiar with the nursery setting philosophy, code of conduct and the educational and other programs being applied in the nursery.
Closely cooperates with other colleagues in the nursery to implement the programs in the best manner.
Is flexible with all members of the team and able to cope with last minute changes or demands of the setting, to have a creative approach for problem solving, being approachable, reliable, conscientious, and possesses ability to develop positive relationships with children, parents and all members of the team.
Serves as a good role model for teaching assistants in the daily running of the class.
Prepares a child portfolio at the start of academic year with the child’s artwork and samples of development.
Assists the teaching assistant in preparation of cutouts, displays, and photocopying of resources needed.
Maintains a stock take of the resources’ in the class and looks after all the resources and note if any items are damaged or need to be replaced.
Ensures health and safety is maintained around the nursery both indoors and outdoors.
Assists the children with toileting, washing hands, etc.
Supervises and monitors the children during lunch times on a daily basis and reports any concerns.
Informs the Nursery Head of any concerns about a child, parent, or member of staff.
Provides pastoral care and provides the children a secure environment to learn both indoors and outdoors.
Prepares activities at the end of the day before leaving the premises so all the preparation is complete in advance for the next day.
Arrives on time in the morning to set up activities, prepare, and set up the class before the children arrive.
Helps develop and organize learning materials and resources’ for the children’s learning.
Takes part in planning meetings and shares ideas and knowledge to develop and further improve the nursery.
Plans enjoyable activities according to the curriculum of the nursery.
Plans and prepares for all special events and celebrations which is celebrated in the nursery.
Encourages children’s development through songs stories, and role-play.
Possesses knowledge of the EYFS and plans activities related to the settings themes that are planned.
Understands and follows the nursery policies and procedures, and nursery requirements for the smooth running of the nursery.
Reviews the educational and developmental programs and makes any necessary amendments.
Implements the education objectives for each classroom.
Plans the monthly subjects to be presented.
Plans monthly activities and programs.
Evaluates the knowledge acquired by children as compared to the objectives set.

Monitoring and Documentation:

Attends meetings with the Nursery Head to discuss children’s progress and to share new ideas and ways to apply such ideas in the educational and developmental operations of the program.
Monitors and records child attendance, behavior pattern, assignments and any other responsibilities.
Promptly informs the receptionist in case of absentees, of the child.
Promptly informs the Nursery Nurse if a child is sick or unwell during the nursery hours.
Observes the child on a daily basis and records each child’s development.
Evaluates the knowledge acquired by children as compared to the objectives set.
Observes each child in the class and records their development in the child portfolio.
Writes written reports and progress reports on each child at the end of each term.
Completes child progress reports including behavior reports accurately and regularly and submits them to the Nursery Head, as per agreed schedules.
Collects, assesses, and provides timely feedback for assignments.
Maintains accurate, complete records as required by Ministry law, school policies and procedures.
Complies with Ministry laws, school policies and procedures.

Communication:

Plans and presents parent-teacher meetings.
Prepares for and communicates with Parent and child on academic goals and strategies.
Works closely with the parents and liaise with them on a daily basis providing them up to date information about their child’s day.
Attends all parent teacher conferences at the end of every term and provide the relevant information about the child.
Writes communication to parents on a daily basis and updating it to inform parents on the learning and development of their child’s, progress of the day and any concerns.
Conducts child/parent orientation sessions during new nursery admissions.
Communicates monthly with children who are experiencing academic difficulty, non-compliant children, or by request of the child/parent.

Behaves politely and shows respect to all children to help build self-esteem in them.
Encourages the productive citizenship and respectful conduct of children.
Shows a sense of fairness to all childrenand avoids partiality in all matters at all times.
Works cooperatively with colleagues, support staff, administration and the community.

Demonstrates positive school-community relations.
Displays high level of financial accountability, honesty and reliability.

Professional Development:

Attends all staff meetings and training sessions held by the nursery
Participates in all relevant training and development programs and activities.
Participates in the nurseries’ performance development program.
Contributes to information and knowledge sharing among peers.
Keeps up to date with latest instructional and professional techniques to enhance education.
Maintains portfolio recording learning experiences and effectively uses them in work.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Ability to work effectively with school staff, children, parents and members of the community.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; ability toplan, and organize.
Skills in adapting to changing work priorities; communicating with diverse people; meeting deadlines and schedules; setting priorities; working as part of a team

Job Type / Category:

7 am to 3 pm Monday to Friday – 5 days a week.
2 year contract renewable.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:

University Degree in Early Childhood Education
or University Degree in any other specialization provided that it is accompanied by a certified professional certificate in Early Childhood Leadership (Level 3)
or high school diploma provided that they are combined with a certified professional certificate in Early Childhood Leadership (Level 3) with at least two years of experience in the care or education of children.;
all the above aredependent on ADEK approvals

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: From AED4,000.00 per month
COVID-19 considerations:All staff and visitors are to wear a mask at all times, take PCR tests as required and show updates on Al Hosn app, employees showing any symptoms must immediately inform the head for further procedures, all areas of nursery are sanitized regularly.
