This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional to join a team in an emerging market. As a Senior Tax Specialist, you will work closely with the Group Tax Manager in providing support for the tax function of Talabat Group in the Middle East region which includes the coordination of all functions and activities related to indirect and direct tax.

You will work as part of the regional team within finance in terms of pursuing, delivering and managing the below.
Ensure timely completion and the filing of all tax compliances (i.e. Zakat, Corporate tax, WHT and VAT) for the group.
To prepare tax reports and related analysis to the management, documenting the various tax issues.
Assist the Tax Manager and the management in implementing tax efficient and domestic structures and identify tax-planning opportunities to reduce the overall effective tax rate and mitigate tax risks.
Monitor the changes in the domestic tax laws and regulations to anticipate the impact on the Group and its subsidiaries.
To assist the Tax Manager and the parent company in coordinating any work with external tax advisors/auditors that pertains to consulting on accounting for income tax, technical tax matters, tax compliance processes, special tax projects and various tax issues relating to the organization.
Assisting the Tax Manager in the tax audits announced/in-progress with the tax authority. Also efficiently communicating and coordinating with the tax officials, if required.
To communicate the tax policies, procedures and processes, and internal control procedures and ensure compliance therewith.
Supporting the Tax Manager with the reporting requirements of the central teams
Participating in the development of any tax planning initiatives by applying knowledge of tax laws, foreign tax laws and double tax treaties to minimize withholding taxes, foreign taxes, and domestic taxes on foreign income.
Perform special tax projects, as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
What Did We Order?
Bachelor’s Degree in Tax, Economics, Accounting, Finance or a related field
An approved professional qualification or equivalent (e.g., ADIT / ATT / ACCA / CPA / ACA / CA)
3 – 5 years of relevant tax experience, in either a big 4 accounting firm or industry with prior exposure to international taxation
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities, flexibility in availability/schedule.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and an understanding of emerging workplace communication, collaboration tools and technology
Experience working in cross-functional teams across a scaling global organization to achieve operational excellence
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
