The National, the leading English-language Middle East news organisation, is looking to hire aSocial Media Journalist to be based in our headquarters in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Candidates should be social media natives with a passion for creative and innovative storytelling, demonstrate a deep interest in news and knowledge of current affairs, have an excellent understanding of social media audiences, social media trends and analytics, and how data informs our strategy.
Requirements include:
Qualified or experienced journalist with minimum two years’ newsroom experience (essential)
Experience managing social media accounts for publishers or established brands (highly desirable)
Experience with CMS, social media publishing tools and social media content creation (essential)
Strong editorial judgement, copywriting and SEO writing skills (essential)
Ability to understand and use social analytics to inform strategy (highly desirable)
Adaptable, resilient and able to work across multiple teams based in locations across the world (essential)
Creativity and the initiative to respond effectively to an ever-changing news agenda and workload (essential)
Willingness to work shifts, some weekends and some public holidays when required
