Senior Engineer, Network Job in Abu Dhabi, UAE at ADNOC

Job Purpose

Monitor and manage the network operations and systems. Provide Network and Application Operations Management Level 1 support in investigation and resolution of network problems to assure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of defined services in accord with established policies, defined service level agreements and quality standards. Monitors and manages the operation of ADNOC Distribution Telecommunications services and systems, implementing the latest technologies. Oversees the operation and support of the Telecommunications facilities to ensure continuous availability to all users. Develops plans and implements the enhancement of these Telecommunication services and the introduction of new services and applications to satisfy business requirements.

Network Operations Support
 Manage the maintenance of the single view of all ADNOC Distribution’s Infrastructure, Network and Application Operational aspects, ensuring compliance with defined SLA and quality standards.
 Monitor and manage the network operations and systems (Internet, Intranet, etc.), providing 1st level support for IT Infrastructure, Network and Applications Operations Management, ensuring compliance with information security standards to ensure integrity of data for continuous business.
 Perform incident management and problem management of network infrastructure (Data & Voice) to minimize repetitive issues and improve resolution timelines.
 Identify and resolve problems following agreed operating procedures.
 Track and document all issues and resolutions in detail.
 Participate and investigate evaluation and implementation of Network solutions (hardware, software, management tools and components)

 Ensure all major systems, applications, networks and hardware are operated and maintained costeffectively, and meet defined service levels and standards, as well as the defined user and business needs.
 Monitor and control the performance and data canter infrastructure, servers, computer network and related network equipment.

Telecommunication Management
 Establishes, installs and supports Telecommunication services environment for ADNOC Distribution.
 Plans, manages and monitors the utilization and operation of Telecommunication services facilities and the development of these services to meet and support business requirements.
 Develops and formulates Telecommunication services strategies and plans and ensures the implementation of these plans within the IT Strategy framework.
 Establishes requirements and specifications for cost effective current and long-term Telecommunication Services for ADNOC Distribution.
 Implements and sets up Internet/Intranet systems (servers, security mechanism, Firewalls, etc.) based on Telecommunication Services architectures and standards.
 Develops and formulates policies, standards and procedures for Telecommunication Services and systems in accordance with ADNOC Distribution IT Strategy.
 Evaluates, investigates and implements existing and new Telecommunication services solutions (hardware, software, management tools and components) to add value and satisfy business requirements.
 Conducts Telecommunication services support, troubleshooting, monitoring and capacity planning.
 Defines and establishes Telecommunication services systems security policies and procedures in conjunction with IT Quality and Control Department and ensures the implementation of these policies.
 Prepares feasibility studies and scope of work, reviews proposals for the acquisition of Telecommunication services solutions to ensure their compatibility

•    Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
•    Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

•    Provide input for preparation of the functional budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives. 
•    Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control

•    Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
•    Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best Industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
•    Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
Reports
•    Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

Minimum Qualification

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification
 Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or electrical engineering.

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

 
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
 6 years of experience in IT support and service desk
 Networking and infrastructure experience are required.
 Excellent understanding of technologies, operating systems, networking, anti-virus, back-ups, systems and firewalls.
 knowledge of troubleshooting and diagnosing computer hardware and software issues and networking equipment
 Experience managing, supporting and deploying network infrastructures
 Strong ability to diagnose server or network alerts, events or issues
 Understanding of common information architecture frameworks
 Knowledge of project management methodologies and techniques
 Experience with Disaster Recovery plans and related technologies
