We are looking to hire a Senior Civil Engineer with experience in fitout design / projects, who will be providing support to the fit-outs manager for upcoming civil requirement for our client – a leading semi-government organization in Dubai, UAE.
This position is8 monthscontract role, renewable based on performance.
The role sits within the Fitoutdepartment and reports directly to theSenior Manager – Fitout and Design.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and direction to civil engineering staff, ensuring their compliance with applicable regulations, local / international standards, and codes
Oversee and regularly review engineering processes and resources to maximize efficiency and productivity
Conduct onsite investigations, continuous follow up at the site and prepare detailed technical snag
Responsible for preparing civil design and scope of work and follow up to get the design approved, in coordination with other Technical Design Engineers for MEP modifications required
Prepare technical correspondence letters to concerned parties related to technical issues.
Create and maintain cost estimates for projects and programs
Review the civil technical documents, drawings, specifications, work program schedule etc being submitted by external contractors, related to internal projects in accordance with International Standards.
Selection or approving of materials in accordance to the project requirements
Conduct reviews and approve work notifications and work program.
Perform quality control and quality assurance of executed and on going internal projects
Actively participate in professional activities, such as meetings and conferences
Key Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or similar.
5 – 8 years of experience in design, planning and construction of civil engineering projects
3+ years of experience working within fit-out projects
Fluency in Arabic language will be an advantage
In-depth knowledge of civil engineering and construction specifications, standards, and codes.
Great leadership, project management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent knowledge of design or visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar will be an advantage
Availability
Preference will be given to candidates available immediately or a maximum of 30 days after accepting the offer.
