Job Summary
As Senior MEP BIM Technician, you will be part of the AECOM Middle East B&P MEP Team and will report to a senior member of the MEP Team.
Key responsibilities are:
Management of the remote MEP BIM Team
Strong experience as Senior BIM Modeler on Revit MEP
Reporting on Team resourcing requirements with respect to project deadlines
Development of the Team skills to ensure a high level of competency, accuracy and efficiency in project delivery
Preparation of Revit based family
Understanding of BIM Template and processes
Should follow the project BIM Standards
Implementing continuous improvements in team skills methods of working and efficiencies
Interfacing with the Digital Lead Team to ensure alignment of strategies
Ensuring robust strategies in place for project coordination workflows
The candidate must be from a MEP design background and be fully conversant with the implementation of projects in BIM, including development of scripts, automation of design processes and production of MEP designs and schedules in BIM. The candidate must be fully conversant with production of Navis Works information and clash detection and resolution techniques. The candidate must be a good communicator and be capable of mentoring a team.
Job Duties:
In addition to the skills outlined above, the duties are:
Responsible for developing MEP BIM workflows to improve the efficiency of BIM delivery
Create and help manage MEP discipline BIM Standards
Development of standard modelling practices and procedures and implementing these within the team
Collaborate and communicate with other disciplines regarding coordination issues and common model development tasks
Perform both routine and non-routine, complex modelling assignments that require judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations.
Works with Project BIM Managers and project engineers to communicate, problem solve, and update models for coordination and design issues
Assist engineers with drawing coordination problem solving
Maintain awareness of compliance to safety and quality standards and integration of design
Implement BIM modelling techniques and processes to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the production process.
Maintain an overview of developments in BIM modelling systems and standard Codes of Practice.
Upskilling the BIM team to deliver BIM Level 2 processes into everyday project production and delivery.
Improve and customize of content libraries (e.g. Revit families)
Manage traditional drawing standards
Direct and manage all BIM related activities from project start-up to project completion
Manage the adherence to the BIM Execution Plan (including defined project standards) by the entire project team
Manage the collaboration/file exchange site and process for the project
Responsible for implementing a model maintenance and model QA/QC process for the project
Provide regular updates on the status of BIM Team and training to the MEP team Management
Minimum Requirements
Specific Skills Required:
Expert in Revit MEP
Must be proficient in use of Navisworks Manager for multidisciplinary coordination
