Title: School Nurse

Evaluate and identify abnormal health findings who complain of specific ailments
Call parents to suggest they pick up patients who might be uncomfortable or who might have developed a contagious illness
Educate students on hand washing, germs, and other health care and safety issues
Examine and authenticate vaccination records
Monitor and dispense prescription medications based on instructions from parents and GPs
Contact parents and teachers with any medical emergency
Develop and manage school health and wellness program
Maintain files on each student’s health and medical history
Promote and protect the optimal health status of school-age children
Observe the child for development and health patterns in making nursing assessment
Develop and implement a student health plan
Interpret the health status of students to parents and school personnel
Initiate referral to parents, school personnel or community health resources for intervention, remediation and follow through
Provide ongoing health assessment and counseling with students, parents, school personnel or health agencies
Utilize existing health resources to provide appropriate care of students
Maintain, evaluate and interpret cumulative health data to accommodate individual needs of students
Plan and implement school health management protocols
Participate in home visits when indicated to assess the family needs as related to the child’s health
Develop procedures and provide for emergency nursing management for injuries/illnesses
Promote and assist in the control of communicable diseases
Provide direct health education, and health counseling to assist students and families in making decisions on health and lifestyles that affect health
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
DHA License is required
With at least 1 year working experience in similar position
Strong knowledge of childhood illness and injuries
Having initiative and with good organizational skills
Must be able to work independently or as part of a team
Previous experience as a school/nursery nurse is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: AED4,000.00 – AED4,500.00 per month
