Supports the Clinical Risk Manager in the operational delivery of the clinical risk management program. They will assist in the implemenation and monitoring of the effectiveness of the risk management program within American Hospital Dubai. Thus, supporting organisational learning and ensuring American Hospital Dubai is meeting its regulatory and accreditation obligations.


Support and monitor the clinical risk management program taking a proactive approach to help minimize and mitigate clinical risk.

Support internal clinical risk identification mechanisms including, but not limited to incident reports, medical record reviews, clinical audits, patient complaints, claims and risk assessments.

Have a strong overview of the progress of incident and complaint investigations and ensure Director of Clinical Governance is informed of any issues or risks.

Support the process for reporting and updating information relating to patient safety incidents, complaints and near misses.

Champion and promote quality as a key focus when reviewing the learning from incidents and complaints to improve patient outcomes and effectiveness of care.

Analyze complex information from claims, incident, and complaint investigations to establish appropriate action plans to bring about positive change.

Support the collection, analysis, and presentation of quantitative and qualitative clinical risk management data (Incidents, complaints, claims) to measure the effects of change and monitor continuous improvement.

Participate in proactive risk reduction activities using such tools as Failure Mode Effect Analysis and Hazard Vulnerability Analysis.


Healthcare degree or equivalent professional qualification (current license preferred).

Masters in risk management or related healthcare field preferred.

CPHRM (Certified Professional Healthcare Risk Management) certificate preferrepital.

Minimum of 3 years recent experience in Clinical Risk Management & Patient Safety.

Knowledge of managing clinical risk within a healthcare setting.

Experience of influencing at a strategic level.

Experience in managing large, complex projects and initiatives.

Knowledge of principles, methods, procedures, and current trends in health information data management.

Possess a level of analytical ability to problem-solve, evaluate, plan, and direct process improvement projects for all clinical departments.

Evidence of developing innovative and creative solutions to achieve organisation objectives within clinical improvement setting.

Participated in accreditation programs and surveys.

Knowledge of developing standards, policies, and procedures.

Must be able to demonstrate an ability to engage with clinicians.
