About the role

Kerry is now recruiting for a junior Research, Development & Applications (RDA) Technologist to join it’s RDA team in Dubai. This is a great opportunity for an entry level candidate who has some previous food technology exposure / internships under their belt, or an individual with 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role in the flavour industry (preferably with seasonings experience), to work with a Senior Flavourist (predominantly in the area of Snacking) and to develop a career in Research, Development & Applications with a global organisation. Applicants should be interested to develop a career in this vein, be prepared to learn while providing valuable support to the team, and must be comfortable with handling non-Halal ingredients.

Key responsibilities


Helping Flavourists to compound flavour samples in line with predefined procedures and specification requirements (taste, colour)

Assisting the Research, Development & Applications (RDA)team of scientists with flavour application work

Support preparation and shipment of samples to fulfill sample request

Maintain adequate stock of raw materials and ingredients. Follows established procedures in relation to laboratory maintenance and stock control

Maintain laboratory, including upkeep of equipment, stocking of lab supplies and general cleaning of work areas. Maintains test equipment and components to eliminate measurement error thereby reducing product failure

Record results in an appropriate manner & communicates results to RDA Scientists

Provide technical support and participates in other RDA activity as required

Qualifications and skills

Certificate / Diploma in relevant science subject


Minimum 1 year’s working experience as laboratory technician or internship in a flavour house or food processing company as part of the Diploma programme

Operates in a testing laboratory / food science / flavour laboratory environment. Primarily laboratory and pilot scale environment

HACCP, manual handling, safety, chemical handling

Must be comfortable / able to handle non-Halal ingredients
