The Middle East is currently seeing a boom in infrastructure development together with an increased focus and awareness of the importance of good stormwater management. We are currently providing stormwater expertise in all of our major markets in the region and we expect this market to grow further.
We are looking for a hands-on practicing technical leader with specific experience in the areas of hydrology, flood studies, highway and infrastructure drainage and urban drainage systems design who will help Jacobs develop and implement a stormwater strategy meeting client expectations on ongoing and upcoming projects.
As our Regional Solutions Leader for stormwater management you will be a key technical leader within the regional Water business team helping to drive our growth. Working closely with our Regional Sales team you will help to identify and pursue stormwater opportunities in new and existing markets.
Linking with our Global Solutions & Technology team you will bring best practices to projects and proposals within the Middle East region providing technical leadership and governance to a portfolio of projects with Stormwater scope. You will take a strategic view on Jacobs’ position in the market and build the capacity of the local Jacobs’ team by providing training and mentoring to junior staff and recruitment where gaps are identified.
The requisite engineer will be based in the UAE within the Water and Environment team. The team deals with a range of public and private sector clients and provides specialist technical advisory and project management services on water industry projects in the Middle East.
You will have experience of working in a consultancy environment with practical knowledge and experience of current industry standard software used in modelling and design of hydrology, urban drainage and water resources engineering.
Flood and low flow hydrological analysis and flood risk assessments with or without climate change. Hydraulic design and sizing of medium to large sized urban drainage networks, including pollution control and Sustainable Drainage Systems (highway, infrastructure drainage works which include cross drainage structures, conveyance structures, erosion/scour protection and flood mitigation/attenuation works). Understanding of groundwater related issues and assessment/design of land drainage systems and to prepare and apply design standards and criteria of/for municipalities and other regulatory authorities.
As a successful candidate you will have a degree in Civil Engineering. A Master’s degree or other post graduate qualifications in relevant fields will be added advantage. Professional Registration with appropriate Institution ICE, CIWEM, etc.) will be preferred.
