Key Responsibilities
Lead and monitor delivery of month end management accounting to management within the agreed timeframe and in the required format.
Manage the accurate and timely delivery for specific country/group of countries of general accounting and reporting tasks (i.e. journal postings, GL maintenance, report preparation, reconciliations, etc.) in accordance SLAs
Manage the closing process in accordance with the global closing timetable and SLA’s
Manage and coordinate the reconciliation of the respective accounts to ensure their contents is accurate and understood, and that any discrepancies are investigated and corrected
Review group reports, cash flow, and other necessary reports before submitting to group/local management
Provide relevant advice and information to staff across the SSC and its customers as and when required
Regularly track and resolve outstanding general accounting and reporting issues that have been escalated, or further escalate to the necessary parties
Act as primary contact for local markets in terms of coordination and servicing
Ensure relevant business process controls and processes are documented and tested in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
Manage and coordinate the audit process, working close to Internal and External Audit teams
Support R2R Senior Manager in implementing best practices for R2R process and proactively identify, propose and implement continuous improvement opportunities in existing processes within the team
Support and mentor the team and drive other improvement and community initiatives
Carry out people management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and coach the team members
Hire and develop team members by transferring knowledge of operations, financial concepts and business issues
Provide opportunities for learning and self-development, and facilitate the development of technical competencies
Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
Accounting Professional Accreditation (ACA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA)
Experience working in a Shared Service environment
Minimum 10 years post qualification experience in general and/or financial accounting, with minimum 2 years in a manager role
Experience in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics
Experience of managing different stakeholders,
Detailed knowledge of accounting process & solid financial analysis
Strong working knowledge of IFRS, tax regulations and internal controls
SOX experience an advantage
Strong communication skills
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal analytical skills
Ability to create productive business environment for officers by providing opportunities to demonstrate/develop their skill sets
Ability to comprehend and communicate financial information to various audiences
Ability to function in a team environment as a member and a manager
Strong Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word skills
