Job Purpose:
The Project Controls Engineer is responsible for preparing/analyzing progress reports, cash flows, identify risks to the schedule/budget and provide mitigation plans.
As the Project Controls Engineer, you will be responsible to lead the Quality Assurance activity to ensure adherence to the Quality Management System, and to coordinate the HSE function to ensure compliance to the international HSE standards.
Major Accountabilities:
You will:
Attend meetings to identify client requirements, contribute to their compilation, in addition to all activities concerned with the planning works aspects of the project.
Analyze optimum resources requirement of work force to ensure efficient and timely completion of the works. Able to demonstrate good organizational skills, following policies, procedures and work practices, and developing improvements where necessary.
Review specifications, drawings, BOQs, and all other project and engineering documentation. Keeps records of all work completed and completion of “Action Lists”.
Liaise with other discipline Engineers to ensure the optimum utilization of available work, with the overall objective of successful completion of the project.
Understand the overall Project Master Schedules derived from the contract and estimate the data provided. Develop schedule in accordance with the project master schedules.
Prepare periodic project status reports for Project Management and Executive Management, to include but not limited to: Costs, Progress and Resources.
Participate in the review of Contractor Billings (Interim Payment Certificate) in accordance with the Contract terms and conditions.
Develops overall project cost forecast from Contract and estimate data provided. Develops cash flow projections based on forecast progress projections.
Maintain Invoice Register with all cost breakdowns.
Computes activity / discipline progress per approved Construction Schedule with Weightings.
Verify Contractor’s daily work force & equipment reports as per actual on site.
Perform full time and continuing safety coverage / monitoring at work site to ensure compliance of work force. Report on the overall implementation of the Contractor specific safety and loss prevention (HSE) program and related activities.
Coordinate for safety, health, security and environmental issues with Contractor counterpart in the field that concern or affect day-to-day operation.
Monitor the construction works in accordance with the approved Project Quality Plan.
Assist Discipline Inspection Staff to perform inspections and maintain logs.
Report on Non-conformance, violation after fact and their resolution.
Enforce all Company safety and QA/QC procedures/ regulations with the Contractor workforce.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Engineering.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Project Controls in Construction Projects.
