Position Summary

Jubail is one of Bechtel’s most remarkable achievements—a city built from the sand up, requiring vast resources and logistical planning on an unprecedented scale. It the biggest civil engineering project in modern times—and it’s getting bigger. Bechtel has managed the Jubail project, located in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, since it began in the mid-1970s. Bechtel serves as the Management Services Contractor (MSC), or “owner’s representative” for our client, the Royal Commission (RC). We are the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) managers, managing design submissions from local AE firms, and overseeing the actual construction work being performed by local contractors and sub-contractors in Jubail and Ras-Al-Khair Industrial Cities. In June 2021, Bechtel’s contract with the Royal Commission was renewed for another 5 years with work focusing on building new residential communities, iconic buildings/ bridges, major site preparation, commercial buildings, mosques, schools, hospitals, sports facilities, clinics, universities, utility services and infrastructure (electrical sub-stations, lift stations), roads and highways, port & pipeline expansions, and more.

The work location can be Jubail or Ras-Al-Khair.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
Prepares monthly client invoices and ensures invoices are billed accurately and on time.
Ensures the B/S and P&L reconciliations of all project accounts are cleared and updated on a monthly basis.
Process vendor invoices for payment and all other payables/payments required.
(Expenses, telephone invoices, GOSI, other gov. payments etc.). Processes online bank payments.
Process monthly payroll and prepare monthly payroll reports when required.
Prepares Journal entries, upload entries in ledger using WebADI.
Handle Office Petty Cash when required.
Prepares monthly ad hoc MI reports i.e. actuals vs. budget. Performs ad hoc cost and accounts analysis as and when required.
Addresses Project employees’ queries regarding payroll, expense claims, time recording, GOSI deductions etc.
Liaising/coordinating with other Bechtel offices worldwide.
Perform ad-hoc tasks from time to time as requested by Supervisors and Managers.

Skills and Qualifications:

Essential Technical:

Associate/bachelor’s degree in a business discipline.
At least 5 years of accounting experience with a multinational company or a company with over 350 employees in Saudi Arabia.
Good understanding of basic accounting principles i.e. double entry system, GOSI, Accounts payable, Payroll, cost Analysis, reconciliation, B/S and P&L accounts
Above average Excel skills.
Good command of the English language as the role requires liaising with other offices outside the Kingdom.

Essential Behavioral:

Ability to communicate and articulate ideas effectively both orally and in writing in English and Arabic.
Team Player and worked with employees with different nationalities.
The ideal candidate must possess good organization skills ability to provide constant attention on work and ability to deliverable on time.

Preferred Technical:

Knowledge of Oracle accounting software.
Knowledge of Aconex (Oracle Electronic Document Management System).

Preferred Behavioral:

Proactive & can takes initiatives.

Addendum:
Grade 23 – 5 to 8 years of accounting experience.
Grade 24 – 8 to 10 years of accounting experience.
