Lead and oversee the selection, design and development of traditional crafts in close cooperation with relevant partners and designers and in line with best practices, aiding to improve the quality of traditional products, in line with the strategic plans of Culture Sites Management and contributing to achieve defined targets of the House of Artisans Section.

Key Responsibilities
Traditional Products Strategies & Plans
Contribute to the development of Products Design and Development strategies and plans, aiding to increase visitors awareness on handicrafts and traditional products.
Traditional Products Design & Development
Oversee the review and assessment of current traditional craft / handicraft products in Abu Dhabi to understand existing gaps, and potential improvements to products quality and design to meet target consumer market needs (local residents and tourists).
Lead the identification and collaboration with Emirati designers to create and design products aligned with changing market needs.
Oversee the design of traditional craft / handicraft products taking into account the assessment findings, pre-defined leading quality standards, and key traditional craft elements and features.
Lead in selecting and collaborating with national and international designers to transform traditional resources and artisanal crafts into modern goods.
Ensure that internal and external artisans and product designers understand product requirements while producing sample of prototypes.
Oversee the development of traditional craft / handicraft products by working with external product development and production specialists and ensuring selection of high quality material in line with traditional crafts product guidelines.
Work with the Marketing teams to provide required support in promoting and marketing traditional products.
Oversee the development and improvement of quality control system and specifications of traditional craft products.
Lead on the commercial operations of products, event planning, international collaborations and partnerships in close coordination with the Commercial Development and House of Artisans teams and in line with the sector’s objectives and priorities.
Reporting & Budgets
Ensure coordination with Commercial Development and relevant teams to identify pricing of traditional craft / handicraft products.
Lead maintaining products development and production costs in line with pre-determined budget.
Review reports on traditional crafts design and development as per required specifications and timelines.
Shared Activity
Strategic Contribution
Ensure effective cascading of the functional strategy into section business plans to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing sectional strategies.
People Management
Manage the effective achievement of assigned objectives through the leadership of the Section by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff to maximize performance.
Lead the creative initiatives for the assigned section, collaborating with technical/discipline experts and thereby ensure the availability of talent to fit business requirements.
Act as a role model and drive adherence to organizational values and ethics by employees of the assigned section to foster a value driven culture within the organization.
