We have an excellent opening for a Private Banker to join our Middle East team within our Dubai office.
The successful candidate will provide a high level of service and financial advice to a portfolio of clients of Nedbank Private Wealth International whilst operating within a closely regulated regime and complying with our policies and procedures. The role holder will be responsible for managing, maintaining and growing a portfolio of intermediary and/or private clients with a view to protecting and enhancing the value of those relationships.

Role Specific details
Act as relationship manager for a portfolio of intermediary and/or private clients, taking responsibility for all aspects of a client relationship with the bank.

Provide a high level of service regarding banking, investments, fiduciary and credit including cross sell of services offered by the bank and the wider group
Act as the main point of contact for the client/intermediary with NPWI and be responsible for sourcing and collating their needs from within or outside of the group and managing these needs
Demonstrate proactive development of existing and potential private clients/intermediary relationships with a view to enhancing the value of existing relationships and securing business from new relationships
Proactively promote NPW including networking and attending relevant industry events
When necessary, travel to visit existing and prospective clients to maintain and manage the client relationship with a view to protecting existing business and attracting further business from existing and potential new clients. Travel plans must always be justified with a business case for financial gain/client retention.
To market and promote financial, investment and lending services to clients that is compliant with NPW policies and procedures. To work with closely with the High Net Worth Support function in assisting with front end financial and investment advice to be provided by suitably regulated and qualified colleagues with financial management of assets outsourced to others within the group
Utilise the skills of the High Net Worth Support team to prepare credit and investment proposals
Complete annual investment reviews and lending renewals for your portfolio of clients in a timely fashion
Achieve financial targets as set out annually in support of overall business strategy
For lending clients, assist the Lending team with managing any risks that the Bank faces as a result of providing finance.
Introduce prospective lending clients to the High Net Worth Support team to undertake regulated mortgage calls with prospective lending clients
Assist with the development of others within the business as required
Undertake such tasks as may be required by the business from time to time
Undertake continuous professional development in accordance with professional institute and regulatory requirements and keep up to date with developments within the industry, complying with the Bank’s Training and Competency policy
Deputise for the HOPB in their absence in the management and motivation of the team and the guidance, supervision, performance, personal development and control of the jobholder reports.
Deputise for the HOPB in ensuring that all activities undertaken by the jobholder and the Dubai team are compliant with both local licensing restrictions and regulations.


Relevant RDR compliant Investment qualification minimum level 6 plus CeMap or equivalent lending qualification

Technical Skills and Experience

At least 5 years of experience in banking and Investments (at least 2 years advising clients)
