Principal Solution Consultant – GSC Engagement Management

The Global Solutions Consultants (GSC) group works with various Finastra teams to ensure that all pre-sales activities are executed to the highest possible standards and ensure that all proposals provide a compelling value proposition and truly meet the customer’s needs. Members of the Global Solutions Consultants group have a wide range of both business and technical skills and competencies, are highly motivated and drive best practice approach to all pre-sales activities, customer facing demos, customer workshops and RFI and RFP management processes.

The GSC Engagement Managers drive the translation of win strategies, growth initiatives and business objectives into smart, compelling, consistent, customer-focused documents and presentations, project managing activities through departments and escalating risk to regional directors and sales leadership where required.

Thanks to your experience at a proven and established leader in the world of Fintech, with a history of selling and implementing software and managed services offerings in the Financial Services industry, you are in a unique position to address all facets of customer engagements, enabling sales opportunities to be concluded successfully for both Finastra and Finastra’s customers.

Finally, your acute understanding of the timelines and important milestones of customer engagements combined with your ability to take ownership and drive a pursuit will enable you to proactively remove any barriers to a successful and timely conclusion of the engagements.

Responsibilities and deliverables

Plan and manage presales engagements and proposals from outset to closure on selected opportunities

Manage multiple stakeholders internally (Engagement Team) and externally, mobilizing from presales subject matter experts, product management, sales, partners, customer success and services teams. The Engagement Team is a matrixed team, by nature virtual and dynamic.

Build and deliver the highest standards in proposals and presentations through collaborative work approaches, creating accountability of each team members for their deliverables.

Provide critical input and questioning from a customer perspective to ensure best coverage of customer needs

Ensure alignment of the engagement team on a consistent and up to date messaging all along the engagement

Ensure consistency and coherency in the way our field organisation is presenting our solutions, architecture and associated benefits to our customers, especially for Hosted and Managed Services opportunities

Identify risks and build appropriate mitigation plans and point of escalation to drive the engagement to a successful closure

Recommend and document new approaches that will result in improving our Field / Sales organisation

Work with the Regional Director to share learning and improve our best practices

The role requires you to lead external engagement and work collaboratively to be successful. You are expected to have a strong experience in the financial software industry, show a deep understanding of the business and buying processes of financial institutions.

In the role, you will be expected to coordinate a virtual team, to create client specific value propositions and to synthesize and articulate our value proposition and main differentiators to senior business and technical stakeholders at customers, partners and Fintechs.
