The focus of this key position is to manage all activities that occur within the manufacturing site. The Plant Manager operates effectively as a leader with direct responsibility for manufacturing and key support process operations. The Plant Manager leads through a culture of performance monitoring, review and action, open communication, employee involvement and continuous improvement in support of achieving the organization’s mission and objections. The job focuses on ensuring continuous improvements in the areas of quality, customer service, safety, efficiency, financial profitability. This position will be anExecutive working positionand long hours should be expected.
Min 5 years leading a site or food/bakery team >100 staff
Degree level (or equivalent) qualification in an engineering or food technology/Baking discipline
IOSH Managing Safely.
Food Safety Level 3 (intermediate/supervising).
HACCP Level 2.
KEY RESULTS AREA:
Responsible for all aspects of Health and Safety in the facility;
Lead, manage and control of the management of personnel through direct line managers and site HR support.
Lead the Quality function to reduce FS and Quality complaints through introduction of a range of Customer focused QA/TQM/Internal audit tools and techniques
Adherence to Housekeeping standards through 5S process;
Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices for Production Cell;
Manufacturing Costing Variance to Standard Cost in the production areas;
Improve communication to Safety, Production, Quality and Maintenance teams on KPI achievements;
Delivery of production plan budgeted Attainment to Plan.
Achievement of Site OEE target.
Improvement in Site Not-Right First Time Quality;
Manufacturing Costing Variance to Standard Cost;
Direct Labour Efficiency for site;
Increase in Unit Per Man Hour;
Decrease in Cost Per Unit;
Reduce Energy and Utilities consumed per saleable tonne;
Improve Material Bin Waste;
Lead the maintenance function to Reduction in Downtime through a rage of preventative and predictive maintenance techniques, CI and Improvement teams;
Reduction in Operational losses, including Changeover times;
Adherence to Production TPM schedules;
Ensure Internal Supplier / Customer relationships and information flows are improved to deliver commercial expectations through the production process
Delivery of the production plan through direct reporting teams on shifts;
Work with Operations leadership team in driving the improvements across the Operations areas to achieve World Class Standards;
Adherence to Food Manufacturing Safety and Quality Standards;
Implementation of TPM to production operations;
Implementation of Lean Manufacturing Techniques to production operations;
Control and effective use of Direct and Indirect labour to meet production programme requirements and customer expectations across the shift;
Performance Management of all direct reports to meet site business plan;
Identification and delivery of Total Lowest Cost improvement projects;
Control and effective use of Direct and Indirect labour to meet production programme requirements and customer expectations;
Ensure Regular communication to Production Cell on Production Performance and KPI through Area Process Leaders;
Effective planning, production order control;
Ensure no Major external audit compliance issues
