Job Summary:
The plant manager is responsible for leading all aspects of a manufacturing plant, ensuring the plant runs efficiently, meets production goals, and meets quality standards. The plant manager is responsible for managing and developing the plant staff, ensuring they are trained, motivated, and working safely.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement production and operational plans to ensure the plant meets production goals and quality standards
Manage plant resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials to ensure efficient operation of the plant
Ensure safety policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to by all plant staff
Develop and manage plant budgets, ensuring the plant operates within financial targets
Manage plant inventory and supply chain processes to ensure materials and products are available for production
Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant operations and efficiencies
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including environmental, health, and safety regulations
Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers and suppliers, ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction
Manage and develop plant staff, ensuring they are trained, motivated, and working safely
Ensure all plant records and reports are accurate and up to date
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field
Proven 5+ years of experience in plant management, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Experience managing budgets and financial targets
Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to manufacturing operations
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and technologies
Working Conditions:
The Plant hire Manager typically works in an office environment, but will also spend time in the workshop overseeing and managing the work of the technicians and mechanics. The role may require some travel to client sites for maintenance or repair work.
The job may also require working overtime, weekends or holidays in response to emergency situations or to meet project deadlines
