PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
In line with the vision, mission and values of the organization, the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Consultant (PM&R Consultant) will be concerned with the comprehensive diagnosis, medical management and rehabilitation of people of all ages with neuromusculoskeletal disorders and associated disabilities. The range of services and treatments will cater to physical, mental and occupational rehabilitation.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Document examination results, treatment plans and patients outc9omes
-Examine patients to assess mobility, strength, communication or cognition.
– Provide inpatient or outpatient medical management of neuromuscular disorders, musculoskeletal trauma, acute and chronic pain, cardiac or pulmonary disease and other disabling conditions.
– Develop comprehensive plans for immediate and long-term rehabilitation including but not limited to therapeutic exercise, speech and language therapy, cognitive retraining, patient, family or caregiver education, etc.
– Coordinate physical medicine and rehabilitation services with other medical activities as required.
Perform electrodiagnosis including electromyography, nerve conduction studies, as clinically required.
