NADIA’s client, a well established freight services company requires a Payroll Specialist with minimum 5 years of experience in administering payroll, HRIS and benefits processes. Work experience should include knowledge of basic human resources, payroll practices, benefits administration, and compliance or other related experience.



Bachelor’s degree or relevant years of experience; CEBS, or PHR/SHRM-CP certification preferred.  Critical knowledge & skills including tools, software applications:  SAPERP, SAP HCM, SAP Success factors, Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications  Essential Job

Duties and Responsibilities:

SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION  Provide primary support for the SAP Payroll module.  Include all aspects of the payroll processing function including support of the HR Payroll Department during the monthly payroll processing cycles, on boarding and off boarding of employees for acquisitions, year-end processing and touch points with other SAP modules that impact payroll (Time Management, Accounts Payable, Finance, and others).  Support SAP configuration, testing and support for all fixes and enhancements to these areas, testing and support for the annual SAP support pack implementations.

Facilitate strong customer service relationships with external/internal personnel and peers.  Responsible for data completeness in the Kronos timekeeping system and for data being properly interfaced into the SAP payroll system.  Review SAP payroll reports to confirm data is balanced with timekeeping and division submission reports to ensure accuracy and identify any out-of- balance conditions needing correction  Provide data support for external and internal audits related to pay items  Research, analyze, and interpret multiple sources of payroll data to provide resolution for payroll inquiries from HR, Finance, and Business Managers  PAYROLL/


Processes company’s payroll every pay period.  Identifies, investigates, and resolves discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records.  Handles changes in wage, job status, and job titles.  Compute wage, overtime, and other types of pay.  Calculate and record payroll deductions (voluntary and involuntary)  Process advance, termination and other out-of-cycle payments.  Calculate and prepare general journal entries.  Compile payroll data for management, auditors, and others  Ensure that employee payroll processing is in compliance with federal and state laws.

Implement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency and consult with human resources team to improve payroll and HRIS processes.  Evaluate and implement payroll/HRIS systems upgrades and changes.  Produces scheduled and ad-hoc reports pertaining to payroll and human resources requirements.  Prepare reports to relevant departments about payroll, company budget and expense.  Administer all employee benefit programs including enrollments and terminations.

Coordinates and conducts the new employee on boarding process and presents benefits presentations to ensure employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions.  Plans, conducts and reports results of audits to ensure all enrollments are accurate and that dependent information is correct for each employee and works closely with Accounting for quarterly and year end audits.  Addresses benefit inquiries to ensure timely and accurate resolutions.
