NOTE: Please ONLY apply if you have sufficient experience and skills required as per job description below.Job SummaryAs Operations Buyer you will successfully deliver the daily activities of the purchasing function, whilst maintaining relationship with vendors or suppliers. You will evaluate and analyse purchasing trends and price trends to identify forecasting demand and minimize purchasing costs. Your existing research and analytical skills will act as a good foundation for this role and will play a critical part in providing key stakeholders insightful management information in order to reach end goals. You will engage and develop strong relationships with current and potential suppliers to maximise commercial advantage in line with quality programs and initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Create and keep up to date-purchase orders for the release of projects to vendors
Reconcile purchase orders against final vendor invoices.
Communicate with vendors if discrepancies /inquiries
Assist in purchasing materials, supplies and services.
Qualify vendors, evaluate bids, and negotiate prices and terms for purchased goods and services.
Track purchases, monitors vendor quality, and maintains a current database of vendor information.
Fully accountable for achieving all relevant KPIs
Complete non-competitive purchases for low value processes
Execution of sourcing plans, especially implementation of change programs involving new suppliers or spend practice
Communicate effectively with other members of the procurement team throughout the procurement journey to manage expectations and provide a positive internal customer experience
Work within a framework of targets including savings, effectiveness and efficiency in delivery
Modify any Purchasing contracts in line with internal customer feedback
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities both internally and externally.
Identify and report on all Value For Money activities.
Skills & Experience Required
Competent in the following:
Motivation skills.
Negotiation skills.
Report writing.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience
Minimum 5 years’ of relevant experience with similar operations is essential.
Oil and Gas experience is highly preferred.
Drilling operations onshore and offshore are highly preferred.
JDE experience is preferred.
