Position at Kanad Hospital

The OSH Officer looks over the implementation of all the health and safety plans at Kanad Hospital, responsible for all employees’ and contractors safety at work and the use of proper safeguards and ensures compliance with all occupational, safety and health standards and regulations. The OSH Officer works to provide a safe, functional and supportive facility for patients, families, staff and visitors.

Requirements:


NEBOSH certified and OSHAD registered

Education: High school graduate plus 2 years vocational training in related field, holding UAE driver license

Experience: At least 3 years related experience

Responsibilities include:

Practice safe working techniques and re-enforce the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures as set out by Kanad Hospital

Provide guidance and direction in OSH plans at the employee / supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach

Ensure that contractor personnel working on the property are in compliance with Kanad Hospital policies and safety requirements

Conducting contractors safety inductions

Review and update SOP’s for all safe work practices and equipment and utilize them in training


Provide employee orientations and emergency response training

Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected. Coordinate with COO on facility deficiencies

Maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits, regulatory requirements and inspections

Assist with maintaining the Site Preparedness and Emergency Plans & Procedures

Review accidents and incidents which occur in the area of responsibility and conduct field audits, reporting and managing the corrective actions

Maintain working relationships with Regulatory Agencies and co- chair the FM-OSH Committee for the Operation

Manage OSH Risk Assessments and the process and regularly conduct training needed

Part of the Command Center Team and comply with Kanad Hospital emergency response plan

Responsible for Training’s and Fire drills that are carried out as per the planed schedule

Conduct OSH inspections by department

Preparing periodical OSH KPI

Responsible for maintaining and updating the MSDS as and when required

Coordinate and work with external companies for the periodical monitoring of air quality, noise levels and water quality

Reporting for disciplinary action for violating safety rules

Checking the effectiveness of OHS & EMS and suggesting improvements to overall OHS & EMS management system.

Key Accountabilities :

OSH:Confirming optimum safe working environment and methodsEnsure safe working environment.Optional Member of the FM-OSH Committee.Ensure standard compliance, completion of periodic fire drills and training,Training and implementation of the Emergency Response Plan,Ensure Occupational Safety Standard compliance,Provide staff safety training,Establish, recommend and implement policies for environmental issues, medical waste handling and waste management.Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and dealing with the consequences.

Quality Improvement: Oversee implementation and compliance of DOH and JCI Standards in regards to Facility Management and Safety

Ensuring customer satisfaction and empowerment.
