Position: Mechanical Design Engineer – Water – Abu Dhabi
Carry out complete design of pumping stations for sewage, storm water, irrigation, potable water and firefighting pumping stations and its related facilities and utilities which includes pipework and valve sizing, pump selection with head calculations, HVAC sizing, lifting equipment and filter selection, piping and mechanical equipment layout arrangement.
Responsible for the preparation of mechanical design calculations, reports and specifications.
Familiar with hydraulic institution ANSI/HI and AWWA standards.
Experience in surge analysis.
Attend progress and coordination meetings of the design projects and the preparation of the meeting records.
Liaison and coordination with all applicable Local Authority Departments to obtain approval on design projects.
Coordination with other AECOM Middle East discipline Engineers as applicable for the continuity of the design projects.
Flexible to take on site activities tasks such as material submittals review and site visits.
Minimum 6 years of experience, ideally within Middle East / UAE in an engineering consulting firm.
Must have strong technical experience in design of pumping stations, storage tanks, HVAC. Good understanding of UAE applicable standards for the relevant authorities (i.e. Dubai Municipality, ADDC, TRANSCO, UAE Fire Code…etc.).
Familia with international standard such as Hydraulic Institution (HI), AWWA, NFPA and related industry practice regulations.
Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Thorough knowledge of current technology; must be able to select appropriate engineering software for use on project.
Ability to establish and maintaining effective working relationships with staff/Team.
Knowledge in sewage treatment works is a plus.
Knowledge in District Cooling Plants (DCP) is a plus.
Knowledge in carrying out surge analysis using Wanda Software is a plus.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental engineering or related engineering degree
Master’s degree in related experience
