Job Purpose:

The Material Management Manager is responsible for managing materials, inventory control, indexing and logistics in line with set policies and procedures to safeguard WTTCO’s items and ensure timely delivery.

Key Accountabilities:

Contribute to the development of Supply Chain business plan and develop operational plan of the Material Management according to set objectives

Develop Material Management key performance indicators and continuously monitor progress towards operational plan

Implement Material Management framework, methodologies, techniques and principles

Ensure that Material Management operational plan is well communicated and understood at all levels

Optimize resources and ensure team is efficient and provide recommendations for improvement

Develop budget requirements for Material Management ensuring alignment to plans and needs

Develop procedures ensuring all actions are conducted in a systematic manner

Take operational decisions and escalate key decisions to senior management when required

Manage the inflow and outflow of materials for ease of reference and timely decision-making

Ensure inventory items are categorized to keep track and optimize the use of warehouse space

Approve monthly stock usage report of each material kept in storage

Approve the disposal of obsolete and damaged material as per set guidelines

Develop the yearly inventory plan based on forecasted demand

Manage physical stock inventory count periodically and match them to stock records to assure accuracy

Approve items to be withdrawn from stock

Develop the indexing plan for ease of tracking and retrieval

Manage the indexing of items for accurate tracking as per the set classification and indexing plan to optimize warehouse space and facilitate item retrieval

Manage logistics activities to ensure that requested products are delivered on time with the required quantity and specifications

Ensure received products / services are inspected ensuring compliance with purchase order and technical specification

Ensure timely payment processing in coordination with Finance

Resolve material and logistics issues to ensure smooth operations

Contribute to employee performance management, and provide formal and informal feedback in order to support professional development and maximize performance

Build and maintain solid relations with externals stakeholders such as governmental entities and consultants to serve WTTCO best interest

Provide assistance across the organization and support peers when needed to perform their duties

Approve reports and presentations related to Material Management activities and achievements for reporting and decision-making

Perform other activities as and when required

Qualifications and Experience:

A minimum of 8 years of experience within the field

Bachelor’s degree in Business administration or in any related field
