Manager – IT Applications is responsible for aligning IT with the Organization’s objectives through the delivery of initiatives that will contribute to business growth, mainly through Digitization and Automation. In addition to managing change (Projects, Enhancements, Re-alignment), the position is also responsible for managing the day-to-day activities to maintain and improve service levels and system availability.

Major Responsibilities

Manage application development teams from the initial inception of ideas to working with end users on the product.

Must have managed technology team for creating digital products.

Create an operating model for the product post-go live. Manage the department’s budget, make forecasts, and respond to changing conditions.

Drive documentation of application and market objectives for reports to internal groups.

This includes supervising feasibility studies, liaising with users throughout such studies to define their system requirements, reviewing and endorsing implementation plans, overseeing assessment and evaluation of server hardware recommendations, and preparing solutions specifications.

Demonstrate leading a team to develop enterprise-level application on the Azure Cloud.

Understand core banking and how it relates to the mobile platform. Have a full understanding of digital payments.

Create a backend framework for application monitoring and problem resolution.

Perform supervisory and management functions at the level established by management for the position.

Have a good understanding of backend development using Micro-services.

Seek, hire, and retain a strong, collaborative team of application development experts.

Include development of implementation plans, maps, budgets, and coordination of major IT applications projects, the scope of which covers the requirements of complex multi company and multi shareholder business requirements.

Manage the activities of assigned personnel (direct hire, contractors, and consultants) in the Applications Support section.

Manage various application development activities such as participation in business requirements identification and design, user requirements analysis, assessment, and implementation of such solutions.

Ensure that users are fully briefed by the appropriate staff when new equipment and/or software is installed. Provide advice as to what practical demonstrations may assist users in installations of a complex nature or if a senior manager is the recipient.

Ensure existence of sufficient controls to safeguard confidential company information.

Provide significant input to the process of the development of information technology standards, policies, and procedures.

Have a strong knowledge of databases like Oracle, SQL, and MySQL.

Adhere to timelines as committed to the business to complete the responsibility.


10 years of experience in Information Technology, of which 8 years in the Application development area.

Financial & Banking industry experience is preferred.


A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a Science discipline.

Team leading and motivation to accomplish organizational strategic goals.
