Legal Specialist (Qatari Only) Job in Doha, Qatar at Vodafone Qatar
Reporting to the Legal Director / Head of Legal. The primary function of the Senior Legal Specialist is to provide legal support. In this role you will be responsible for providing commercially aware legal advices to the business, supporting in highlighting legal risks whilst facilitating outcomes that support the businesses strategic and operational objectives.
As a member of the legal function team you will be required to support the legal team and business in legal matters, seek to understand key strategic drivers of the company in order to enable the provision of appropriately tailored advice and maximise the value that the legal function brings to the business. In this role you are responsible for creating a value add in-house support service that combines professional knowledge, expertise and experience with sound commercial/business acumen and an ability to realistically assess and communicate risk.
Specialist Advices: provide specialist advices and support both the business and the Legal Director / Head of Legal in engagements with internal stakeholders, on legal related matters.
Key Strategic Projects / Transaction Work: provide legal support, including drafting, negotiating and advising on business critical and high value projects, including technology, business enterprise, marketing, IT related projects.
Product Launches: attend Go To Market meetings, advising the business on all legal aspects and drafting any related legal documents on any new product and service propositions from inception to launch.
Commercial Contracts: draft, advise and take a advisory role in negotiation meetings with suppliers, partners and customers for a broad range of commercial contracts, including procurement agreements and technology agreements.
Customer Contracts: advise stakeholders of contract risks and appropriate resolution strategy when customers terms and conditions deviate from Vodafone Qatar standard customer terms and conditions.
Compliance / Risk Programme: manage and co-ordinate the implementation and monitoring of the company risk and compliance programme with key internal stakeholders and Vodafone Group.
Supporting Role: Be prepared to provide support and actively participate in relevant legal matters as required.
Key Relationships: Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders as required (including the external counsel, the Communications Regulatory Authority and relevant Ministries).
Financial Responsibility: Assist with management and achievement of the legal and regulatory budget.
External Advisors: liaise with external legal / regulatory partners and consultants in the provision of specialist professional advices and services where required.
Legal & Regulatory Submissions: Assist in supporting with the evaluation and preparation of submissions relating to key matters and proposed legislation / regulation.
Litigation: liaise with and manage external legal counsel in respect of on-going Vodafone Qatar litigation matters.
