Location:Dubai, U.A.E.
Areas of Responsibility:
Ensure all Procurement activity & documentation is compliant with Procurement SOPs.
Provide pricing in support of Business Development efforts.
Provide guidance and information to requesters which include communication of procurement actions and assisting with special or complex requirements.
Coordinate requisition requirements with requesters.
Evaluate bids, selecting and recommending suppliers.
Review purchase requisitions and place orders with approved suppliers for routine and more complex purchases.
Negotiate price, quality and delivery dates and terms/ conditions.
Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization.
Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with suppliers, internal Business Units and clients, as required
Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities.
Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issue.
Interface with Purchasing Management to provide status and input on specific projects/ tasks.
Perform any other relevant duties as assigned to the position by senior management.
Able to add value, reduce costs and input to business improvements.
Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and during supplier negotiations and contracts award process.
Responsible for ensuring timely turnaround of approved PRs into PO (clarifying anything unclear specified on the PR with the Business Unit) per SLAs.
Ability to work within a team and be a teamplayer.
Develop the use of best practices and tools for execution and management of workload as appropriate.
Assess and evaluate suppliers and contribute to performance reviews to ensure contract compliance.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management
Experience in African Market, working for a similar industry in Africa is essential
Minimum 2 years of on-the-job experience in procurement administration, purchasing, category management, or a closely related field
Keen attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft applications
Under the overall guidance of the Procurement Management, the Junior Buyer is responsible for the effective purchase of commodities and services to ensure, that the company operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply and mission.
