RESPONSIBILITIES
The Application Support Specialist is accountable for the availability, performance, cost optimizations and risk management related to Client Application services.
The Application Support Specialist will provide enterprise-wide support for complex applications and interconnected technologies that require day-today support and administration in order to maintain optimal performance and utilization with focus on:
Application availability
Application performance
Incident management
Problem management
Service quality
Capacity management
Backup and recovery
High availability / Always on Support
Troubleshooting (Incident diagnoses and analysis)
Disaster Recovery
Job Overview
5+ years of experience at a relevant technical position in large organizations
Banking background
· Experience in Application production support within the ITIL Framework.
· Excellent knowledge and hands on experience in
o Application trouble shooting, configuration and maintenance.
o Application performance tuning and optimization
o Resolution of tickets with quality and within SLA
o Proactive monitoring and incidents analysis
o Experience in Work flow maintenance and Configuration.
· Hands on knowledge on Informatica BDM and Power Center for trouble shooting production issues.
· Hands on knowledge on Hadoop components for trouble shooting production issues – viz OOZIE, Ambari, Scoop scripting. HDFS commands.
· Proficient in writing advanced Hive queries.
· Knowledge on relational and non-relation Databases (Sybase IQ, Oracle, MSSQL, Mongo DB, Hive, PostgreSQL).
· Hands on experience in Unix Command.
· Good knowledge of reporting tools viz. Cognos, Power BI
· Good knowledge of Open-source applications/application components
· Good knowledge of application licensing
· Knowledge in Informatica Administration is an added advantage.

Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
