The Human Resource Director at Abu Dhabi University plans, leads, directs, develops and coordinates the policies, activities and staff of the Human Resources Department (HR) and ensures compliance with and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy.
Work with senior leadership, deans and directors to understand and deliver the organization’s goals and strategy related to recruiting, hiring, retention and talent development.
Lead the Human Resources team to promote effective teamwork, initiative taking, performance enhancement, constructive feedback and professional development.
Develop and execute an annual recruitment plan to recruit staff and faculty in a timely manner.
Develop and report on relationships with state employment agencies to ensure colleges and departments are complying and taking advantage of opportunities provided by these agencies.
Ensure that HR department enables deans and directors to deliver their goals through a responsive and enabling service.
Support the implementation of the Faculty Development Framework and other relevant initiatives aimed at improving employee performance and, where necessary, enable deans and directors to deal with poor performance, including termination of contracts.
Support the University in developing comprehensive, affordable, compensation packages that assist in attracting and retaining high performing colleagues.
Plans, directs, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support compliance with company human resources policies and strategies.
Administers or oversees the administration of human resources programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits and leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition and morale, workplace health and safety, and training and development.
Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and implements best practices for hiring and talent management.
Monitors and ensures company compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews and amends policies and practices to ensure compliance.
Develops and implements the department budget.
Promotes professional development, training and certification activities for HR staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Digitization and automation:
Review, streamline and optimize Human Resources processes to achieve higher levels of efficiency, automation and flexibility.
Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends, including review of reports and metrics from the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
Keeps abreast of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in the areas of human resources, talent management and employment law; uses this knowledge to communicate changes to policies, practices and resources management.
HR department supervisory responsibility:

Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new employees in the department.
Supervises the daily operations of the department.
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Attends to the discipline and termination of employees in accordance with University policies.
