Title: Head Of Finance – GCIC
Type: Full Time
Oversees all financial activities of AXA GCIC and the management of the Finance team, in order to monitor and improve the financial performance of the Company, its investments, its solvency, its accounting process, its strategic planning, and available adequate reporting to the management, the shareholders and the regulatory authorities.
Appraise the financial position of the Company, anticipates changes, establishes business cases and makes recommendations to the management and the shareholders.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in terms of financial activities and reporting.
Oversee and directs the budgeting, accounting, taxation, treasury, premium collection activities.
Constant monitoring of key performance indicators of the team and align them whenever required to achieve their goals.
Establish the necessary accounting and budget procedures.
Liaise with external Auditors as appropriate.
Act as the Secretary of the Investment Committee.
Drive the investment function of the Company and the financial income, oversees the investment activity, and coordinates the activities of the Investment Committee.
Supervise and ensures that the team delivers their objectives and job responsibilities
Manage and executive adhoc projects assigned by the CEO.
Drive the reporting of the financial performance of the Company.
Drive the actuarial activities of the Company and liaises as appropriate with internal and external actuaries.
Oversee the establishment of the strategic plan of the Company (actions and financial projections)
Ensure that the timelines for the preparation of financial statements are met.
Guide and train the Finance team in the areas which require improvement.
Ensure that the budget and forecast are prepared as per the objectives of the Company.
Monitor the financial communication of the Company.
Report to the CEO, to the Board, to the Shareholders and to Regulators on all financial issues as appropriate.
Minimum requirements of role :
Prior extensive experience in Life Insurance.
Excellent management skills and comprehensive oversight capabilities.
Strong understanding of life insurance products, including pricing and reserving.
Deep ALM understanding.
Good knowledge of Solvency II and IFRS17.
Excellent analytical skills.
Able to work effectively on tight timetables.
Sound knowledge of actuarial techniques.
Familiar with reinsurance impacts.
Adaptability to deal with various complex situations.
Pragmatism and problem-solving character .
Ability to effectively manage, supervise, and evaluate team of finance executives.
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
Ensures that all related transactions are properly documented, filed and organized.
Ability to quickly make decisions with confidence to resolve issues in due time.
Goal oriented with an ability to work under pressure and minimal supervision.
