We are seeking to hire “Head of Credit” to be based in Sudan, to head the Credit function for one of the largest banks in East Africa with an extensive branch network and an employee strength running into a few thousands.
The position reports directly to the CEO and is tasked with managing the entire corporate and retail credit cycle, overseeing the credit team on Credit Due Diligence process and ensuring that all credit proposals emanating from the business have been carefully evaluated, and have logical recommendations prior to the submission to the Credit Committee or the Board for approval. Discussing Credit Proposals emanating from the Business department with respect to Structure of Facilities, Key Risk & Mitigants, Market Conditions, Securities, Pricing and Risk Reward with the CEO or Business/Unit Heads where necessitated.
The key responsibilities also include but are not limited to:
Ensuring that the credit function has adequate capacity and capabilities to review and recommend high quality Credit Applications
Monitoring the Loan portfolio to maintain an acceptable quality book.
Driving remediation of underperforming credits by recommending suitable structure and strategies
Relationship Management with HNIs and corporate customers.
Formulate, cascade and implement credit policies and procedures in liaison other stakeholders. Ensure that these are approved by the Board and reviewed periodically.
Prepare appropriate reports for Management and Board committees and make accurate presentations to the committees at the scheduled meetings.
