General Manager – Wind Power Job at Linum Consult

Job Description

CLIENT

Linum Consult’s client is a major international company working within the energy sector. They are currently in the process of expanding and are seeking a General Manager to be based in their office in Melbourne.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinating with the EPC contractor to track their work performance, ensuring they fulfil their contractual obligations, and the timely commissioning of the project
Ensuring the company is fully compliant and in line with their contractual obligations
Monitoring the project schedule and costs, updating and reporting as the project development proceeds
Identifying any construction progress obstructions or risks and providing a cost-effective solution to the shareholders
Maintaining the project’s budget within established parameters
Ensuring all HSE requirements are met according to regulatory and contractual compliances
Monitoring and inspecting the construction performance to ensure quality, schedule, and budget contractual requirements are met
Reviewing and managing technical submittals, to ensure conformance with the design
Developing processes and procedures for wind farm operations, including the transition from construction to commercial operation
Suggesting and implementing a cost-effective asset management strategy in line with the O&M contract
Managing key stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, government, and landowners, to ensure compliance
Ensuring effective reporting to the board, members, and affected stakeholders

Job Requirements


PROFILE
Degree qualification in Engineering with either a Management/Business degree or experience
At least 15 years’ experience, with 5 years in a construction and operations managerial role within the renewable energy industry in Australia
Strong background in construction and O&M, with direct experience of managing a wind project construction project, or turbine erection/installation
Demonstrable understanding of project management processes, strategies, and methods
Excellent technical understanding of construction contracts and the ability to manage key internal and external stakeholders
Familiar with the relevant Australian energy legislation and regulations
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead and develop a team of engineers
