Key Accountabilities & Activities
Understand and develop the NEOM Fire safety strategy, operating model principles, and intended / desired culture
Design, build and consistently enhance the fire safety framework with a focus on lean & technology-based organization
Develop, coordinate and manage relationships with NEOM Community members, internal and external stakeholders, and Base Economy resources in furthering all aspects of public safety within the NEOM Communities, Regions and immediate surroundings
Oversee building of structures, processes, and policies in preparation for the assumption of full Fire & Ambulatory authority, in establishing relationships with NEOM community members, internal and external stakeholders, and Base Economy resources in furthering all aspects of safety within, and immediately surrounding, a NEOM community
Inspect structures and identifying safety hazards such as overloaded electrical wiring or malfunctioning fire alarms
Conduct fire drills, evacuations and awareness campaigns to ensure that all NEOM residents, visitors and contractors know how to evacuate efficiently in an emergency situation
Conduct and coordinate fire inspections to ensure compliance with local codes and NEOM-specific regulations
Design, build and consistently enhance recruitment, training, sand development system and resources required to implement and run all relevant fire safety activities
Coordinate training programs for firefighters and other emergency responders such as police officers, paramedics, and emergency medical technicians
Benchmark required fire safety capabilities with international best-practice and role model departments and assist all NEOM departments as a Subject Matter Expert
Background, Skills & Qualifications
15+ years of experience as a Fire Safety Manager or Fire officer in a governmentally recognized and certified Fire agency
Subject matter expert in discrete fire & ambulatory specialisms
Demonstrated knowledge and experience implementing new technology into all aspects of fire safety prevention and fire response activities
Demonstrable delivery within relevant partnerships and inter-agency working, having experience in managing multiple stakeholders and coordinating large projects
Highly skilled in project management and contract administration, including research, development and implementation of projects/programs, plus vendor, contractor, and user agency coordination
Skilled at working within very diverse multi-cultural environments
Broad background responding to, and supervising, those who respond to a holistic base of community safety concerns
Qualifications
Graduate of an internationally accredited academy or institution in related field (e.g. emergency management, Fire safety, etc.)
Degree-level qualification or equivalent training and experience in related field
Qualifications in fire safety and fire investigation or Fire & Ambulatory response methods or Fire & Ambulatory policy
Knowledge of English language either on native or fluent proficiency is required
Knowledge of Arabic language either on native or fluent proficiency is a plus
