Title: Environmental Health Safety Specialist

Job Purpose

The HSE Officer will be responsible to conduct periodic HSE inspections and highlighting the HSE observed along with recommended mitigations/solutions to the BU. In addition to that he/she will provide required technical support to the Business Units in addressing the issues related to HSE and improving the safety culture at all levels within the organization.


Assist QHSE Head in preparing HSE policy, procedures and SOP in compliance with the applicable regulations and best industrial standards

Ensure a safe work environment with compliance to ISO and other local safety standards

To ensure the Emergency Response Team (ERT) is identified and trained in accordance with the site’s conditions

Ensure the site is in compliance with the latest HSE legislation and bring to the attention of the QHSE Head any non-compliance

Conduct periodic checks at the site as per the application checklist and ensure any con-conformities are rectified in a timely manner

Ensure timely service of 3rd party maintenance on Fire system and support the BU on certification renewals like certification including Civil Defense, Environment certificate, etc

Ensure all HSE-related documents (forms and records) are updated in a timely manner and maintained in a shared folder

Ensure HSE observations along with recommended mitigations are communicated to the concerned and follow-up until closure

Ensure all accidents and incidents are reported in a timely manner and through investigation are done to have effective corrective/preventive actions implemented

Conduct emergency response drills and ensure the highest level of preparedness in an emergency

Prepare Job Hazard Analysis and assist in effective implementation of the suitable mitigations.

Issue work permits as and when needed and ensure contractor’s safety are well managed

Conducting HSE induction / HSE training is done for new staff, visitors and contract workers as and when required

Ensure the use of adequate PPE by the staff at the site

Assist with the rehabilitation of workers after accidents or injuries and make sure they experience a satisfactory return to work

Prepare weekly and monthly HSE reports, statistics and HSE dashboard periodically

Ensure adequate security systems are maintained at all locations of the company

Experience Requirements

5 years of experience in a similar role in the manufacturing or factory environment

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor of Engineering

Skills Aabilibilities

Able to read and interpret the HSE code of practice

Computer Skills include command of Microsoft Windows MS Office

Good Labor Management, Supervision, Training, & Team Building skills

Multi Ligulas preferred

Skilled in developing and implementing the ISO 14001 and 45001 management system at the corporate level.

Training & Certification

Certified / Trained in advance First aider and Firefighter.

NEBOSH IGC (International general certification)

Knowledge of ISO 14001/45001 implementation is a must

Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment in the added advantage

Knowledge of Chemical Risk and safe storage methods is added advantage
