Position: Director – Interest Rate Options Trader

To continue and develop further the IR Options Trading capability of FAB Derivatives Trading Desk. In charge of IR options Pricing and Risk management, FAB note issuances and structured deposits, generating trading/hedging ideas, strengthening the current desk architecture and trading platform, proposing new products. Work closely with FX&Rates Desk, GM Sales, GM Risk, Global Treasury and other stakeholders and develop new trading initiatives with departments across the bank to increase the revenue stream.

Market Making for the sales force in GCC and EM rates and subsequent risk management of volatility positions;

Pricing and managing FAB note issuances and structured deposits – vanilla and exotic IR-linked payoffs;


Responsible for the financial performance of the IR Options trading desk within the assigned market risk limits and internal/external regulatory framework;

Responsible for the relationship with inter-bank brokers and counterparties;

Driving the innovation of new payoffs/products from financial modeling and pricing to front to back trade work-flow; expanding gradually the coverage to entire CEEMEA region according to sales/client requests;

Experienced in trading hybrid products – Credit, FX, IR – to develop further and get more traction on this business;

Leading the development, improvement and modernization of the trading desk architecture;

Being market focused, PnL driven, sales and business oriented, highly motivated, humble, hard-working, eager to succeed, entrepreneurial, responsible;

Being a team member all round;

To retain and increase FAB identity and high profile towards clients and market as the main player for IR Derivatives business in the MENA region;

Anticipating customer needs and responding to requirements in a timely and efficient manner. Building positive relationships with Sales for the benefit of existing and new clients;


Recognizing and demonstrating the ability to exploit new business avenues, generating additional flow for the unit up and beyond its mandate;

Adapting to changes and arising needs by supporting and leading new desk initiatives, keep open dialogue among desks.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

7 – 15 Years of banking experience within a similar field;

Strong experience in trading and managing IR volatility risk at a leading bank;

Deep knowledge of EM, its products and drivers;

Proven PnL track record in EM Rates;

Ability to work accurately and confidently under pressure;

Strong inter-personal skills in order to interact and collaborate with team members, sales, stakeholders and Management.
