We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Development Lead to work with a Major financial institution in Abu Dhabi. In this role, you will be working closely with our Digital Transformation Project team, application, and engineering teams to manage a team of in-house and third-party developers. You will be responsible for helping to develop, implement, optimize, and maintain a well-structured and agile-based development function.
The key responsibilities for this role include:
Optimizing our existing Azure DevOps tool as the key CI/CD pipeline
Providing assistance to existing developers and devops application support as needed
Guiding and leading developers in adapting and following the DevOps scrum methodology for developing robust and secure code
Ensuring proper configuration of the software produced
Monitoring the execution of automated test scripts and quality assurance of code developed both in-house and via third-party teams
Working closely with senior stakeholders to understand business requirements and help translate these into technical requirements for the development team
Planning and documenting technical specifications for features or system design
Designing, building, and configuring applications to meet business process and application requirements
Directing the development team in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of applications
Writing testable, scalable, and efficient code while leading code reviews
Mentoring developers and ensuring they adhere to determining software quality standards
Working with business analysts into collecting requirements and writing user stories
Running your own scrums and daily standups with in-house and third-party development teams
Running development teams under a feature team structure and using agile for prioritization frameworks
Making sure development teams function efficiently
Implementing and maintaining DevSecOps secure code frameworks
Writing technical documentation and formulating backlogs
Carrying out retrospectives
Ensuring code quality control for all the team before deployment to production
Working as QA and collaborating with QA teams in-house and third-party.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years of experience in a leadership role
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and associated pipeline CI/CD pipeline management, as well as quality assurance and automation test software
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
Proven ability to manage and lead a team of in-house and third-party developers
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Arabic is a plus.
