Position Summary

The successful candidate will support the NGHP Security Manager in protecting Air Products’ people, assets, and reputation during project execution.

The incumbent will assist with the further development, implementation, and regular review of the Security Management System. They will be responsible for managing AP Security provider personnel, ensuring the professional delivery of Security across Air Products controlled sites. They will support the NGHP Security Manager with contractor Management, by conducting regular inspections, walkthroughs, and audits in line with the published schedule. They will also deputize for the NGHP Security Manager during their absence from the NEOM region.

This project is the largest and most complex capital project Air Products have executed globally. It will be the first industrial-scale mega electrolyzer project providing a green energy carrier around the world to contribute to the decarbonization of the industry. The high criticality of the project is derived from its size and value and the strategic energy transition program of Air Products. Responsibilities include strategic and tactical matters associated with project execution and through commissioning, start-up, and handover.

The incumbent must have management skills, along with excellent communication and influencing skills. The role requires significant interaction with multiple contractors at site. The project is executed utilizing global capabilities, necessitating a robust cross-cultural competency.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities

The role requires an experienced security professional who has previously worked in an industrial security context. The required candidate must have experience in security leadership, security management system implementation, overseeing security service provider personnel, and contractor management.

The role will be a site based in the NEOM region of KSA, and have the below duties:

Demonstrate project level security leadership and management
Implement the security management system across all NGHP sites/locations
Document, communicate, implement, provide guidance on, and enforce project level policies, plans, and procedures as required to achieve the project security mission
Maintain awareness of security events, incidents, and developments occurring in the vicinity of project locations, as well as within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East Region
Update security management system requirements, as necessary
Support the NGHP Security Manager and Project Directors/Managers in achieving and maintaining security across our sphere of control
Audit worksites, camps, laydown yards, general contractors, and EPCs against project standards and international norms
Develop productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders that advance project interests
Oversee the operational delivery of security services by third-party providers
Conduct security related investigations, identify root causes, recommend mitigations to prevent recurrence, and track actions until completion

General Duties

Support the NGHP Security Manager in the professional delivery of Security across the project
Support Project Management and EHS team in the safe execution of this world class project
Coordinate with AP Security service provider management to ensure effective delivery of agreed services
Manage security service provider Shift Managers/Supervisors, Badging team, Control Room staff, and Journey Coordinators
Ensure Security Officers consistently implement NGHP security related policies and procedures fairly and impartially
Monitor security provider personnel time and attendance
Update security provider KPI scorecards monthly and issue service level agreement violations as necessary
Coordinate with contractor Security Focal Points, ensuring approved Security plans are routinely implemented across the project in line with the NGHP security management system

Education and Experience

Undergraduate degree
+5 years of experience of industrial security management
Self-motivated, pro-active individual who can work independently and lead a team
Excellent organizational skills
Leadership qualities and skills to collaborate and manage stakeholder relationships to project success
Problem-solving skills
Excellent English and Arabic written and verbal communication skills
Excellent presentation skills to senior management audiences and client
Ability to clearly establish and articulate objectives and expectations
Field Experience is required
Familiarity with working with and directing service providers and contractors
