Job Description :

A multinational manufacturing company requires an Accounting graduate with minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing company operating a standard costing system.

Accounts Payable:


Accounts payable accountant; Contact suppliers for follow up of invoices and payments; General account management; Oversee general activities of junior AP clerk; Management of pre payments and realizing against deliveries. Booking of invoices

Cost Control:

Ensure cost of finished goods and raw materials are accurate; Ensure accuracy of sales margins – Making manual adjustments to inventory when incorrect margins are detected; Analise variances such as material price, transactional method (variances on discreet jobs – std cost, BOM and routing activities) and material freight variances. Make suggestions to avoid these kind of variances going forward. Participate in annual material and labour standard changes, and the standards for new inventory items to ensure accurate cost of sales and inventory valuation. Knowledge of labour and overhead recovery rates with understanding of the cost plus mark-up calculations.

Project Costing:

Cost calculation of projects. Pivotal role in cost calculation process together with project engineering team; Monitoring, managing and communication of project inventory levels; calculation and booking of labour and engineering manhours from facilities

Inventory

Assist in reviewing and managing SLOBS file before making provision on a quarterly basis. Monitoring disposal entries for correctness while taking SLOBS provisions into account. Creating awareness to production manager of timely closing, issuing materials and completing of work orders. Monitoring of inventory classification suspense account and re-classification to correct account

Fixed Asset

Prepare CER review file and assist in review meetings. Creating and maintaining of capital project numbers. Capitalisation, depreciation and disposals of fixed assets in ERP System; Member of the fixed asset counting committee. Divisional custodian of fixed asset module in ERP System. Involved in yearly paper review for fixed assets when counting does not take place.


Sales:

Updating and reconciling sales report on a monthly basis

Administration:

Provide ad-hoc duties to the Dubai office

General Ledger

Maintain general ledger including monthly journal entries. Make accruals, re-classification of GL accounts and reconciliations in order to establish the financial position of the company; Month end closing activities. Ensure that SOX controls pertaining to all financial activities are maintained at all times

Reporting/Financial Analysis:

Assist in the preparation of financial reports as per pre-defined formats for yearly statutory audit purposes.

External Audits

AP, Fixed assets, Inventory, cost of sales and random P&L accounts. Presenting and providing assistance in these categories to auditors for successful audit

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/COMPETENCES:

Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.

Accounting Software, MS Office (Excel and word) and ERP Systems preferably Oracle.
