The commissioning engineer will basically be tasked with managing and coordinating all commissioning activities on a power project.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:


Day to day management/coordination of all commissioning activities, including stakeholders in other locations

Regular liaison with the clients representatives

Ensuring the Mott MacDonalds best practices are implemented in an effective and economic manner

Candidate Specification

Essential Candidate requirement

Degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline.

Minimum of 20 years experience in the power sector on construction projects.

Minimum of 10 years on commissioning power related aspects for a large power and desalination generation plant is mandatory.

Using management skills to build and foster relationships and creating effective working environments Flexibility to work in a small team and ability to work for long hours is essential.


Fluent oral and written communication skills in the English language, with good report writing and logical skills Advanced level proficiency with all MS Office products, including: Outlook; Word; Excel; and PowerPoint Good organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail Good relational and communication skills

Adopting a proactive approach towards complex tasks and overall delivery Sound knowledge of professional and international standards

Ability to deal efficiently with priorities and manage time appropriately Ability to work on own initiative without supervision
