Job Purpose:
The commis chef supports the kitchen brigade with basic food preparation, consistently completed – demonstrating good basic food preparation skills and a desire to learn more and progress to develop technique and establish more responsibility.
Duties and responsibilities
To ensure the delivery of the Absolute Taste expectations in food quality. Always ensuring we deliver on our promise to keep food at the heart of everything we do.
Ensure quality and consistency every time, in line with the company guidelines. Deliver consistently high levels of service to ensure complete satisfaction of customers.
Maintain a detailed knowledge of the full menu and be able to explain dish descriptions.
Ensure that stock is rotated and controlled within the specific section of the kitchen.
Exercise company Food Safety and Health and Safety policies
Prepare food as per Absolute Taste expectation
Ensure the cleaning schedule is adhered to and that cleaning tasks are completed.
To comply with any reasonable request of senior team members
Qualifications and Skills
Passionate about great food with exceptional attention to detail.
Able to work under pressure within a busy kitchen environment
Flexible.
