Job Description
This is a really exciting opportunity for a Client Development Manager to join the client development specialist team in the Dubai office of a prestigious global law firm.
The main function of this role will be to manage client development and marketing initiatives to drive the growth of the business and support lawyers with their marketing efforts.
For the office, you will build and manage all client development. In this work, there will be significant global collaboration, in line with how the partners go to market. There will also be significant partnership with U.S. client development counterparts, who are focused on practice-led roles – you will take responsibility for supporting all office requests for client development and marketing, and in this work, ensure that the most up-to-date information and approaches from a practice perspective are incorporated seamlessly.
You will bring forward your entrepreneurial drive in writing and implementing the business plan including target lists, high impact client teams, publishing and speaking opportunities. On an annual basis you will conduct a W/L analysis and own the practice budget.
You will lead the delivery of multiple business pitches, suggesting the go to market approach and how to position the Firm to win while ensuring the content is up to date and accurate. You will take a critical eye to every effort, ensuring we present the right capabilities and team. You will direct efforts to cascade new information about capabilities and client wins through marketing materials including practice group descriptions and lawyer biographies. You will be responsible for lawyer biographies of your office.
You will lead client continuing legal education events, taking ownership of all logistics related to program (virtual and in-person, as possible). You will collaborate with relevant colleagues and stakeholders to ensure an outstanding experience for our clients and a seamless delivery.
As a marketing leader outside of the U.S., you will have an important role in shaping the global marketing services to fit with the local approach. You will ensure that branding, digital, intelligence, client entertainment and CRM efforts work for the Dubai office needs.
In your role, you will represent the global department at office and regional meetings, providing an update on the area you lead, as well as cascading information on global department initiatives and implementing the related partner training.
Additionally, you will support department initiatives and own projects in line with your strengths and passions.
You will report to the Chief Marketing Officer.
Requirements
Experience with owning office or practice client development, including proposing unique growth opportunities and independently shaping both the plan and the approach.
Proven ability to take ownership of the client development budget.
Experience in strategic business development planning and pitching.
Exceptional professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact with executives comfortably.
Strong written communication skills.
Strong project management and time management skills.
Exceptional in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word PowerPoint).
Outstanding problem solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
Excellent attention to detail.
Qualifications
University degree
8+ years of experience in professional services, legal preferred
2+ years of team management experience, with direct reporting lines
International exposure
