The Role Responsibilities
Strategy
Alignment to the group’s strategic intent and management of risk as part corporate plan and risk appetite
Contribute to the strategic decisions of SCB branch as part of local management team.
Business
Align strategy of risk function with business strategy and risk management relevant policies for Saudi Arabia
Develop risk capabilities, skills and infrastructure to meet ongoing business needs and regulatory requirements.
Provide oversight and governance of all risk aspects.
Processes
Supervise all processes where a member of your function is identified as process owner
Ensure effective management of operational risk within risk function and compliance with applicable internal policies and external laws and regulations.
Continuously improve the operational efficiencies and effectiveness of risk
People & Talent
Employ, engage and retain people with the required competency
In partnership with group risk function:
Define the relevant organization structure need in alignment with the need of SCB Saudi Arabia branch
Provide leadership participation in development of Saudi talent and Saudization agenda.
Uphold and reinforce the independence of the risk function from those whose prime responsibility is to maximize revenues and profits.
Establish the required training plans for your team members and provide necessary coaching when required.
Reinforce D&I in line with group strategic intent and country priorities
Lead by example and embed Group’s values and Code of Conduct and comply with all local regulations.
Risk Management
Implement the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (“ERMF”) in line with group approach.
Manage Risk in country in line with local and group’s risk appetite
Chair the Country Risk Committee (“CRC”) and ensure the committee is exercising its responsibilities effectively. In addition, contribute effectively to other committees in line with authorities and responsibilities as stipulated in respective Term of Reference.
Governance
Oversee effective implementation of ERMF and rollout of all risk committees / forums
Exert 2nd line oversight for the risk tagged to CRO.
Liaise effectively with key stakeholders to identify weaknesses and gaps and to suggest remedies.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Our Ideal Candidate
Academic Qualifications: Minimum graduate
Finance / Banking qualification is a preference
Certification / Accreditation: Risk Management Certification from well recognized institution is a preference i.e. PRM, FRM etc. or CRO bootcamp issued by SCB.
Experience: 10 years of minimum experience with 5 years at least in Risk Management. Well round experience in different functions / businesses is an added advantage.
Languages: English and Arabic
