Position Overview:
Our client is a fast-growing Family Office based in Dubai, currently experiencing a period of growth and looking to recruit for an Associate to join their Investment team. The Associate will play a key role in assessing direct private equity investments throughout MENA region. This individual will be involved in deals from initial analytics and structuring through full execution. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the investment process, including evaluation, execution and strategic asset management.
This is an exciting opportunity for a 5–7 year Investment Banker, Private Equity or someone who’s worked in a Famiy offices to join an organization focused on supporting organic and external growth initiatives for their portfolio companies.
Responsibilities:
Assist in evaluating investment opportunities throughout MENA
Build and critically review financial models; assessing the integrity of the model and the financial returns of potential investment opportunities
Conduct due diligence by evaluating information provided by a vendor, company management and professional advisors and incorporating the relevant information into the investment analysis
Synthesize key findings from research, financial analysis and meetings with diligence advisors into investment presentations and participating in presenting these findings to investment committees
Assist with asset management responsibilities by monitoring investment performance and contributing to the strategic direction of portfolio companies, including assisting with debt financings, follow-on acquisitions, and divestiture analysis
Meet with company management and review past performance, strategy, outlook, regulatory and industry issues, and other relevant topics as required;
Assist in performing reviews of valuations for investments and monitoring potential exit alternatives (including public market conditions and potential strategic partners);
Attend annual meetings and board meetings as required;
Work with management teams on strategic business initiatives and assist in building and leveraging relationships with portfolio company management teams and other stakeholders;
Participate in and contribute to weekly departmental meetings and investment recommendation meetings.
Qualifications:
5-7 years of experience in a transactional environment, including investment banking, private equity, venture capital or Family offices.
CFA/MBA qualified or part-qualified
Degree in Finance, Economics or Mathematics
Experience in or knowledge of Consumer, Healthcare, Financial Services or Real Estate sectors is considered a plus, but not required
Strong research, financial modelling, analytical and valuation skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to being a team player
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Intellectual curiosity, an eagerness to learn, and a thoughtful, diligent and proactive approach to gathering information
