Job Description and Requirements
The Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor position in Petroleum Engineering program to begin Fall 2020. Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering with specialization in reservoir simulation, reservoir characteristics, and stimulation and production. The applicant must demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching, research and service. The successful candidate will be expected to be active in research in his/her fields of interests, incorporate high-impact educational practices in his/her teaching, advise undergraduate students, and provide service to the department, university, and community.
The successful candidate is expected to teach the following courses: Petroleum Reservoir Engineering, Reservoir Simulation, Stimulation and Intervention in Petroleum Production Operations, Applied Reservoir Geology, and Water Flooding. Additionally, the candidate should be capable of teaching introductory level courses and supervise senior design projects. All classes and other campus activities are conducted only in English.

Teaching petroleum engineering courses
Participation in departmental, school, and university committees and activities
Advising and mentoring students
Participation in outreach activities, such as continuing education workshops, conferences and seminars
Involvement in research activities both inside and outside the department
Ph. D. in Petroleum Engineering from an accredited institution of higher education
University teaching experience
Effective oral and written English communication skills
Commitment to excellence in teaching, including the use of high-impact educational practices, and scholarship
Interest and experience in working effectively with a diverse student population
Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with faculty from a variety of disciplines
