Title: Arabic/English EPG & On-Demand Editor

Job Purpose
To ensure Metadata and EPG schedules are translated and curated in Arabic and English as required for all OSN Platforms and IPTV partners. Timely and accurate publishing of content as scheduled on OSN+ and OSN On Demand platforms.
Key Accountabilities
Translating English programme descriptions into Arabic and vice versa for use on the OSN EPG, on-demand platforms, on-line and in print.
Writing Arabic and English programme descriptions for use on the OSN EPG, and on digital platforms.
Collecting monthly schedules from local, regional, and international broadcasters.
Working closely with internal and external suppliers to ensure the delivery of schedules and extra programme information.
Re-formatting listings from non-OSN channels to conform to in-house standards.
Monitoring the accuracy of programme information appearing in print, on the EPG and on the website.
Managing metadata for OSN’s Digital Platforms (OSN+ and OSN On Demand).
Sourcing and editing appropriate imagery, synopses, and metadata.
Researching content.
Following content through all internal workflows.
Troubleshooting where problems occur.
Checking that content arrives on various platforms on time and in correct state.
Project work to constantly improve the accuracy, reach and appeal of OSN’s programme information.
Using Adobe software to add and manage extra programme data (images, video clips, highlights, widescreen flags etc.)
Trouble shooting technical issues in conjunction with NOC, Broadcast Operations and Customer Services to ensure the delivery of EPG files to all relevant destinations.
Working with teams internally and externally to ensure Arabic and English user interfaces are accurate and consistent.
Responsible for a platform – ensure all content has arrived.

Qualifications, experience, knowledge & skills
Education
Degree or Diploma in Translation or Languages.
Experience
Previous experience of translating English to Arabic and vice versa.
Knowledge & Skills
Arabic speaker, writer, and translator.
Analytical approach to problem solving, identifying, discussing, researching, and implementing solutions.
Ability to translate short, impactful, and meaningful English programme descriptions into Arabic and vice versa.
Ability to write English and Arabic short, punchy, and meaningful programme descriptions.
Editing programme descriptions from various sources, websites, magazines etc.
Ability to understand and monitor complex technological processes.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Ability to learn new software applications quickly.
Ability to form and maintain working relationships with major regional and international broadcasters.
Team player.
Organised and thorough with keeping documentation up to date.
Knowledge of and passion for TV and OTT platforms.
Knowledge of web technologies and image editing would be an advantage.
Knowledge of a 3rd language like French is a plus.
