Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical individual to join our team as Actuarial Analyst. The role will involve working on reserving, pricing, and capital modeling projects, as well as implementing IFRS17 accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have 0-2 years of work experience in the insurance industry
Major Responsibilities
Assist in the development and maintenance of actuarial models and analytics for property and casualty insurance products.
Support the pricing and reserving process for assigned lines of business.
Assist in the preparation of actuarial reports and analysis for management and regulatory purposes.
Participate in the development and implementation of new products and pricing strategies.
Assist in the preparation of rate filings and support rate review by regulatory bodies.
Keep abreast of industry developments and trends and incorporate them into the analysis and modeling process.
Implement IFRS17 accounting standards and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
Utilize Excel, VBA, R, Python, and SQL to analyze and manipulate data
Collaborate with other departments, such as underwriting and claims, to support data needs and business objectives.
Participate in a variety of projects to gain a broad range of experience
Experience
2-3 years of work experience in the insurance industry
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with Excel, VBA, R, Python, and SQL
Strong attention to detail and ability to work well in a team environment
Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts to non-experts
Actuarial qualifications will be an advantage
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field
